Jayne, it might be worth ordering the marriage certificate for Thomas Samuel Hodges to confirm the name of his father. I think that the Thomas Hodges that has been researched above might be Thomas James Hodges born to George Edwin and Susan Hodges baptisted 10/04/1904 (details already given by Chris Ho :) see link below. )

http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/query/results/?Mode=ShowImg&Img=/cityark/Scans/Ecclesiastical_Rochester_Archdeaconry_Area_Parishes/P405_WOULDHAM_1538_1973/01_Initial_Deposit_1538_1973/01_Incumbent_Service_Register_1538_1969/P405_01_07.html/00000301.jpg

So it might be that these are 2 different Thomas Hodges.

EDIT:
Although this shows Thomas Samuels father as George Edward Hodges perhaps it might be worth ordering Thomas Samuels birth certificate to be sure that his mother is Susan Baldwin and that you are following the right family.
I have added some info below just in case this is the right family.

Although at first glance this seems wrong I think that William Roots age has been recorded incorrectly. (He can't have been a father at the age of 10) if you look immediately below the marriage image (I posted above) for William Baldwin and Mary Ann Roots you will see the marriage for her sister Harriett Ann who married Reuben Wraight.
