Central City is a home rule municipality in Clear Creek and Gilpin counties in the U.S. state of Colorado, and the county seat of Gilpin County.

It was a centre for the Gold Rush, so both the Edwards posted in the 1885 USA are in the right place.

Whoops! Just noticed that the Edward with wife Mary is from the 1880 census not the 1885.

The Army Record is on FMP - it only 3 pages, one of which is blank. POB given as Central City, Colorado. No next of kin given. I wonder if there is any significance in the 1913 date seeing as how he seems to disappear before the 1914 birth.

Anthony I think your father's sister has a third given name 'K' which would suggest perhaps that Mr Kitts was her father

given the location I expect Mr Kitts was the Walter born 1881 who married in 1913 and died in 1954


Leah's death in 1917 is registered under both surnames Bennett and Ford
