Anthony I think your father's sister has a third given name 'K' which would suggest perhaps that Mr Kitts was her father |

The Army Record is on FMP - it only 3 pages, one of which is blank. POB given as Central City, Colorado. No next of kin given. I wonder if there is any significance in the 1913 date seeing as how he seems to disappear before the 1914 birth. |

If the Army record is for the correct Herbert, he was discharged as medically unfit after only 49 days service so possibly his medical condition prevented him from working in a Foundry. On the service record, there is a notation "Exeter, 25/08/13" but not indication of to what it refers. |

I didn't post a 1901 census stating he was a Iron Foundry Worker. |

The Army record also says that he had served a 4 year apprenticeship at Bartle & Sons, Cam or Carn Brea?; there is a date, March '98, but it isn't clear whether that is when he started or finished the apprenticeship. |

On his Army record his occupation is given as Moulder; the Herbert in the 1901 that PricklyHolly posted is an Iron Foundry worker - similar occupation. |
