Must say I can't see her either! Looked to see if witnesses were linked, but it looks like Sophia Farrall was married on the same day to William Prior, and each couple witnessed the other wedding. Sophia's maiden name was Harris so no joy there.
How frustrating!

Just can't find anything, done it upside down and inside out, looked for just anything and no joy.
Might be one of those occasions when you need the birth cert.

Possible death for father?

Deaths Sep 1866
Willett Thomas 38 Islington 1b 173

KathleenBell Report 4 Oct 2014 17:33

I looked for a death for her father anytime between her birth in 1854 and when she married in 1875. This looks to be the most likely:-

First name(s) THOMAS
Last name WILLETT
Gender Male
Birth day -
Birth month -
Birth year 1828
Age 38
Death quarter 3
Death year 1866
District ISLINGTON
County London

thank you both gives me something to go on again, wud there be a posibility that the dad didnt want the marriage to go ahead or cut all ties with her dad

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 4 Oct 2014 17:42

Going by the date of birth and the date of marriage it looks as if she wasn't quite 21 so may have said her father was deceased because she didn't have parental consent for the marriage.

That said if the death above IS that of her father then he really WAS deceased.

A tree at Ancestry has this for Katherine

Marriage: 22 Mar 1875 - Bethnal Green, England
Death: dec Q 1881 (Dec 1881) - london, england

But, the same tree has father Thomas dying in 1866 (as above) but then they give census details for 1871....for HIM!
