Thank you very much for the above information Jooney.......much appreciated.

I didn't know Jasper had a sister Anne........I am made up with that!

I can get back on to Ancestry now so I can check things out.

Helen..........you have definitely hit the nail on the head with the 1841 census.
I nearly didn't post this request on here but I am so pleased I did now.

Jasper and Mary Ann are my 4x Grt Grandparents.

~Well done~ and thank you so much for your time.

Helen has hit it on the head with the 1841 for sure

wondering whether the householders were related ...

Marriages Jun 1839 ?
COBURN Charlotte Winchester &c. 7 295
GALE John Winchester &c. 7 295

no help ... but ... when I looked at the reg dist ...
http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/reg/districts/winchester.html

'1.11.1897 Gained parts of the parish of Chandlers Ford (which until 1.10.1897 formed parts of the parishes of North Stoneham and South Stoneham) from South Stoneham registration district.'

... might your Chandlers have a place named for them? :-)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chandler%27s_Ford

just a possible connection

LK.........thank you for those baptism details.

I have a problem at the moment because Ancestry is playing up so I can't check out if I already have that information in my tree.

Helen.......

I do believe you have cracked it with that 1841 census.

I didn't know Mary existed.........but with the details you posted regarding her marriages..........it has to be them surely!!

I am a little bit excited over here. :-D

I think it would be easier to get birth certificate- but it still would be nice to find where they were.

I know this isn't necessarily the right area but this might be worth a look for Mary and children in 1841: (none of the children were born in county)

First name(s) Mary
Last name Chandler
Gender Female
Age 30
Birth year 1811
Born in County- No
Street Abbots Worthy
Parish or township Kings Worthy
Town Abbots Worthy
County Hampshire
Registration district Winchester & Hursley
Archive reference HO107
Piece number 404
Book number 28
Folio number 4
Page number 11
Record set 1841 England, Wales & Scotland Census

John Gale Male 25 1816 Hampshire
Charllotte Gale Female 25 1816 Hampshire
Mary Chandler Female 30 1811 -
Mary Chandler Female 9 1832 -
Eliza Chandler Female 6 1835 -
Sarah Chandler Female 4 1837 -
Jane Chandler Female 1 1840 -

I checked for a marriage for the daughter Mary that isn't listed on the 1841- there is one that fits with father Jasper:

Marriage:-
Name: Mary Ann Chandler
Spouse: John Robins
Father: Jasper Chandler
Marriage: 18 Jan 1863 - Kennington, Surrey, England

She's later widowed and marries George Cross:

Marriage:-
Mary Ann Robins
Estimated birth year: abt 1831
Age: 46
Spouse: George Cross
Spouse Age: 65
Record Type: Marriage
Event Date: 22 Apr 1877
Parish: St James, Clapham Park
Borough: Lambeth
Father Name: Jasper Chandler
Spouse Father: George Cross
Register Type: Parish Register

EDIT: Corrected Mary's first marriage

PricklyHolly Report 20 Aug 2014 18:40

That all looks very interesting........especially if Jasper was in the hospital.

I think I need to purchase the youngest child Emily's birth cert and be done with it.

Much appreciated everyone.

Thank you. x

Jas on the 1841 census is in the King's College Hospital.

Most of the ages have been rounded to the nearest 5 or 10......so a possibility.

I will check back on here later.........just in case there is anything of interest.

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to look.

Prickles.
