I think I can see where all the red herrings are...

Blaine states that Mary Alice is definitely with her sister Fanny Little, at Market Harborough in 1911.
Mary Ann and 2 children are in this SAME household at 1891
Mary Ann is listed as married but her husband is not on the census.

1891 England Census about Mary A Corlett
Name: Mary A Corlett
[Mary A Little]
[Mary A Newman]
Age: 35
Estimated birth year: abt 1856
Relation: Daughter
Mother's name: Sarah A Newman
Gender: Female
Where born: Market Harborough, Leicestershire, England
Civil Parish: Cheetham
Ecclesiastical parish: St John
Town: Manchester
County/Island: Lancashire
View image
Registration district: Prestwich
Sub-registration district: Cheetham
ED, institution, or vessel: 10

Piece: 3264
Folio: 18
Page Number: 30
Household Members:
Name Age
Sarah A Newman 59 Head B Spalding, Lincs
Mary A Corlett 35. Daugher. Married b Market Harborough
Fanny E Little 33 Daughter. b Greenwich, Kent
William A Corlett 3 Grandson. b Manchester
Frank L Corlett 8 months Grandson . B Manchester

The next census for this family at 1901 was posted above by ArgyllGran.

Therefore, the father William appears only on the 1901 census where is is listed as age 40yrs , and Mary Alice is widowed at 1911.
Based on this, William was born in Ramsey, IOM and died between 1901 and 1911

Remember that on the 1901 image, William's age is 48, not 40 as mistranscribed on Ancestry.

Registration wasn't compulsory in IoM until 1878, and his birth doesn't appear here:
http://www.manxbmd.com/index.html
So you may never know exactly when he was born (1901 census not necessarily accurate).

The 1908 death I posted on page 1 may therefore still be correct, even though the man's age appears to be several years out, but you'd have to buy both it and the marriage cert to compare the fathers' names - and the marriage cert would give an age.

As we don't know his YOB, there are several people who might be him in 1871 & 1881 censuses.

Yes.... will have to make a decision on that one!
