back to morrison family again in 1841 census for chester le street i have
william morrison 1774
elizabeth 1776
emma 1816 household manger daughter
thomas 1820 son
william 1837 [ mother elizabeth williams and elizabeths daughter]
mary ann 1839 [ emmas daughter]
richard wood 5 sep 1841 [ ameys son ]
amey / amy other son
george 9 march 1848 i belive the father of ameys children was george wood death 1850
now in 1851 census william morrison 1765
AMY daughter 35yr
william grandson 14yr [ mother amy ]
mary ann grandaughter 13yr [ emmas daughter ]
where i have put mother as in amy and emma is what was on family search now then complication begins
i have found amey morrisons baptism 22 jan 1815 but after the 1851 census cant find her or her children
i cannot find the birth or baptism of emma but i do know she married george rogerson 11 jul 1851 her death 1898
1861 census i have the now emma rogerson with children
thomas 1850
elizabeth 1852
isabella 1854
emma 1857
apart from thomas where are the other children to amy/emma
where is william 1837
mary ann 1839 emmas daughter
richard amys son
i have in my notes that amy died 1851 but canot no longer find the death [ i have recently moved and lost a few notes this being one ]
i cannot find a birth for emma
are amey and emma the same person ? can any one find the birth of emma and the death of amy in 1851 ? any help and advice would be appreciated , i have seached durham records , and family search

For ref the 1851 census. It says that Amy is unmarried. Are they her children or another of William's childrens grandchildren?

Are you sure these are the same family? There is a 19 year difference in William's age and his occupations are different.

How have you got back to the family in the 1851?

thank you potty and answer to mel fairy godmother , yes amy was not married i cant find a marriage for her and regards to the children my research found that in 1841 census william age 4yr was elizabeths son 1816 sibling of emma / amy
mary ann 2yr was emmas daughter
richard 10month was amys son father richard wood all of the above as in mothers of children i got this info off family search
1n 1851 census there is another child thomas9 month his mother was frances morrison

safrc thank you i have emma in 1861 now rodgerson emmas death was 1898 but i also have amys death for 1851 but lost the notes to confirm this when i moved

but where are amys children richard 1841 baptised richard wood morrison 5 sep 1841 and george 9 march 1848 and where is mary ann 1851 emmas daughter unless they died but i cant find there deaths

amey was baptised 22 jan 1815 if emma and amey were same person why would she marry with the name emma when she was baptised amy and why would emmas daughter mary ann,s 1839 baptisim be mother emma and why would richard wood morrison,s 1841 mother be named as amy. why is amy keep changing her name to emma if they are same person ? all of the baptisims are on family search

do i take it that no one can find the birth of emma and the death of amy .. and no one has any ideas if they are the same person , but why would amy be baptised as amy which is confirmed and her name amy as mother on the births of her children and why would the marriage of emma in 1851 not be in the name of amy if these were the same people ?

ricochet yes that thread is mine but it was on a william morrison and cumbria archive search i had done not on amy /emma ... this is a different question on amy and emma if they were same person ....... i have given up on william as there is no more info to be found on him ..... the thread you hae placed on this post is nothing to do with amy / emma but thank you for remi9nding me of my other post
