potty yes that is emma,s marriage which i also hoped there would be a my as in another name on certificate abd its the same on amy,s birth just being amy
flip...i have searched and also thought that william morriison barwick was my william this is the info i found
children to thomas and amy barwick all born aspatria
1764 christopher death 1765
1766 john death 1766
1769 george
1769 joseph1772 john
1775 william morrison this being a middle name
i also found a death for john barwick 14 march 1766 cumberland possable father of thomas
i thought that amy barwick might hae been a morrison but also searched for amy and thomas,s marriage but couldnt find one i also couldnt find a death for amy barwick there was more barwick children bonr to thomas after william but mother was mary but why would william drop the barwick ? i sort of give up on william , but i have to say the names thomas , joseph john and amy follow on in the morrison,s right to early 1900,s

Looking at your previous thread, and bearing in mind the old registers are bad to decipher, I wonder if you should check out the William Morrison Barwick christened Aspatria 10/9/1775?

Reasoning being, mother was Amy, father Thomas and they look to have had 5 children - with William being the last - so did she die shortly after his birth?

Christenings:
5/12/1765 Christopher
12/11/1769 Joseph (recorded as Berwick), assumed born before this next one
12/11/1769 George (recorded as Berwick), born 1/9/1769
9/6/1772 John
10/9/1775 William Morrison

Now all these children were christened Aspatria (and I agree Spaytree is how the locals say it I have work collegues who still say it that way) with father Thomas and mother Amy. BUT, no more children to them, rather perculiar unless one of them has died.

So, next Thomas marries Margaret Crone 14/5/1780 and they go on to have the following children - is this the same Thomas?:

Mary ch 18/8/1782
Amy ch 17/8/1783 (named after dead wife?)
George 2/1/1789
Joseph 8/8/1890

Then your William Morrison appears to have the following children:

James ch 15/9/1811 (mother Elizabeth Lamb)
Amey ch 22/1/1815 <<maybe after his mother
Elizabeth ch 8/9/16
Sarah ch 1/6/18
Catharine 22/7/21
Thomas 2/2/23 << maybe after his father

This is all speculation, but not all the records have not been transcribed for Cumberland, nor for Durham, and they are really difficult to decipher at times - with water/damp damage inflicted on many of the registers.

do i take it that no one can find the birth of emma and the death of amy .. and no one has any ideas if they are the same person , but why would amy be baptised as amy which is confirmed and her name amy as mother on the births of her children and why would the marriage of emma in 1851 not be in the name of amy if these were the same people ?
