Lost the message that I sent. Many thanks for all your help. Will carry on now. Samuel and Ann Stocks had so many family members with 2 marriages that it is taking a long time. As long as it is accurate is what matters.
It is a relief to see the end with this family section but the challenge is good.

There is only one death in Preston after the 1851 census and before the 1861. Might be worth buying this certificate

Many thanks. This section of the family is very complicated. A large amount were married twice and came with children from a previous marriage.this happened with Ann Stocks and Stephen Ingham.
I have really tried to sort out the Jane /Elizabeth Ellen riddle but where they all went after 1851 I cannot work out. Thanks for the 1851 census.
I was thinking along the lines of Hannah dying or remarrying but need definite proof.
They have to be on a Census somewhere. Just keep going!!

I think the 1841 may be right - a bit more from Lanc-opc on those 2 christenings posted by Sylvia - look at the occupation:

A possible for Thomas in 1841 - living in William Street: EDIT _ maybe not - I think this actually reads Willow street, as found on youngest childs baptism in 1840.

It looks like they changed their minds re the name - it's the right parish Sylvia - same parish as Lydia married in Aug.1851 (from lanc-opc)

I wonder if "Jane" was the name given to the baby at first, and then changed to Elizabeth Ellen by the time of baptism???


I cannot find a Jane Harrison with mother Hannah and father Thomas ............... and the birth date is the same
