Can any one help me with this please- I am trying to find the father & mother of James Follett,I have nothing for sure on him except he is listed on James Follett & Mary Ann Cox marriage certificate,who where married on 22 nd july 1844 in Combe St Nicholas,Somerset. I have a copy of their marriage certificate, and John is listed as James's father. Their daughter Margaret Follett married Robert Thomas Ashley in Liverpool England. I have a lot of Follett's on my tree that follow James & Marry Ann which I think is not the same Line??? so will have to delete them once I find found out if what I have is wrong, I have on my tree James's father as John Follet and mother as Hannah Monkton, but I begining to think this is the wrong parents can any one help with this,thanks

Thanks for all that information on Folletts, and yes that 1851 census of James born Greenwich is my James,and the daughter Margaret is the one who married Robert Thomas Ashley,and they would be my G/Grandparents and the folletts my G/G/Grandparents, if I got that right and they came from Toxteth Park Liverpool, so it is looking like John Follett And Hannah Gill are James 's parents, so I have a lot of deleting to do?? I Have had a look at that link you gave me, and it give me the same info that I have on my tree, and as I said earlier I am not sure If I have the right link? Jax on this querry gave me another Name that it might be Hannah Gill, I guess I will need to get the Birth certificate for James Follett to find out for sure which one is his Mother? I got a lot of my Follett info from someone in OZ & NZ, and it was not authenticated by me back then so now I am paying for it, I have a copy of James Follett and Mary Ann Cox's marriage certificate, also a copy of their daughter Margaret's Birth certificate, and they match, But after that?? all the info I have or looked at only gives Mother's first name "HANNAH" is it Gill or Monkton? shall have to find out for sure

There will not be a birth cert for James...he was born before civil registration in 1837

What was John his fathers occupation on the marriage cert in 1844?

I did not know that. On the marriage certificate John's Occupation was listed as a labourer, Jame's was listed as a labourer also, but on the Birth cert: of James daughter Margaret in 1847 he was now a cabinet maker, thanks

but they have a son called James who is too young to be your James

Looks to me that the Monkton tree link given above has just lumped all the Follett births together when they belong to two different couples from the same area....give or take a couple of miles
