I am guessing Payne or Evans in Q3 1870 or Howell in West Brom

But I can't find a death for Sarah....

By 1881 William has moved to Featherstone and is married again

Name: Elizabeth Cording
Age: 48

Alice Williams 12

Can't find a death for Mary nor a marriage to Elizabeth :-(

Alice is listed as daughter in law..but as she is only 12....................

So if she was a step daughter...there's a marriage to Elizabeth Williams in West Brom

I'm sure I'm missing something really easy here...but if I am I can't see it :-)

As ever extra eyes wanted, received with thanks

Jude

Nice one Chris.
So if there was a child born in 1861 Darlaston, then they should be there in 1861 census and if Sarah didn't die untill 1863, then she should be with them.

Thanks Chris,
the baptism for Samuel does seem to confirm that the two were brothers, so all fitting together very nicely.

EDIT:- Just reread post and they are both together on the 1841 census already posted at the beginning. :-S

Thanks all....again!

Yes William (senior) and Catherine had five children that I know of - William Samuel, Robert, Thomas and Caroline!

But where were William, Sarah and Isaiah in 1861? Never mind plenty to be going on with :-)

Possible death for Mary?

Deaths Mar 1872 (>99%)
CORDENS Mary 39 Walsall 6b 443

I think this is probably her...

Name: Mary Ann Cording
Birth Year: abt 1860
Age: 21
Marriage or Bann Date: 25 Dec 1881
Parish: Featherstone, All Saints
Father's Name: William Cording
Spouse's Name: Thomas Piper
Spouse's Father's Name: John Piper

And as you point out with the bmd Thomas was the brother of Caroline who married Isaiah.

I have trawled 1861 census until my eyes hurt :-0

Can anyone find a death for mother Catherine? In 1861 I believe she is with Robert who is listed separately on the page after her and Thomas, Jonathan and Joseph who are separate again. She is listed as Ruth but everything else fits too well. So either Catherine died and William married Ruth before he died in 1854 or Ruth is Catherine.

But I haven't found her in 1871 nor have I found a death for her.

Off to work now - crossing off events slowly but surely!
