Again, thanks very much. Some useful info, some useful info on Kempsters I already had - and some more confusion ! Unfortunately it's not possible that Thomas K b1704 Aylesbury was the Thomas who was the father of the Thomas K b1720 Tring - cousins ?
I've noticed the Kempsters in NE Wales + Llanffyllin quite often in records - but how and when they arrived there from Bucks/Beds/Herts/Essex I have no idea. They are different to the S Wales Kempsters that I know who arrived there from S Somerset descended from John b Gt Gad. c1820/21

Wow, that was quick - thanks for v prompt replies so far. Some of this info I had on paper - but that's the problem - cant put about 8 generations of Kempsters on my tree until I get the missing link. We know we are related as my gndfather and Ernest 'Smiling Jim' were friends and knew themselves to be cousins and I knew a Kempster in S Wales who had the same family stories as me. So now the question is the same but back a generation. -
Does anyone know where and when the Thomas Kempster who married Sarah Field, Hemel Hempstead 9/11/1738 was born ?. He had to have been born at very latest 1720 (please somebody say Aylesbury 1704 !!!)
