I think that the brick wall is too thick for me to penetrate, its taken me five long years to get back to the year 1818. The Nathans were of Jewish ancestry and anyone with that background is very difficult to trace. Would any other researcher of the Nathan name be willing to guide this perplexed person I wonder? :-0

Start by looking in 'search all member trees'.......under the 'search' button

If anyone else is researching the same people, you will find links there to enable you to try to contact them

You haven't mentioned any location .................................

Abraham was born in 1844, and the marriage was in 1846 according to above information.

So who were his parents?

In addition, if he died in 1859 who was Julia's Father - though dates just about possible?

In which case Abraham was born before they married?? Or was Joseph's son from a previous marriage.

Julia is 9 in 1861, and 19 in 1871, so the 1860 birth isn't her:

Wow, I did not expect so many replies to my cry for help, it makes me feel so grateful to everyone who sent me those. You may have gathered that this chap is a littli bit thick when it comes down to any sort of Admin but I will try to give you more info on my Nathan family. Lilian Nathan was my Mother, born in Nottinghamshire dob 6/3/1910 she died in 1937. Her Parents were Michael and Sara, He dob 19/6/1885 he lived until 1948. His Father was Samuel Nathan dob 30/11/1845 dod 19/12/1907 he left the East END OF London and moved to Nottinghamshire. Samuels Father was Joseph Dob 1818 Dod 1859, he married Marianne Davis and they had Abraham born 1844 Samuel born 1845 Rosetta born 1848 Sarah born 1850 and Julia born 1852. Now was Mordecai Nathan born 1800 and died 1840 Joseph Dad? who was his Mum? when were they born? where did they live? who was their Parents? and where did they come from ?was it England or an other Country? I hope some one can help solve this my problem. Again I THANK EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU

As you have 'marked as answered', can we take it that you require no further assistance?

Neil

Neil Report 17 Feb 2014 23:45

No I still have not found Mordecais Nathans parents or where they came from, I did not realise that Marked as answered gave the impression I had found all that I required.

As it's impossible to remove the "Answered" tick, you could edit the title of your thread to say "NOT answered" - or similar - otherwise people will stop looking at it.
