Hi Guys, I desperately need another pair of extra eyes.. I have a Elizabeth Mary Hollis born 1880 Belfast Ireland. Parents Samuel Hollis c1855 and Ann Mary Ryan.. Samuel Hollis born c1855 Newport Hants Isle of Wight is the son of James Hollis and Elizabeth Barry. Samuel is with his family in 1861 1871 on the Isle of Wight but no sign of him in 1881 - He has obviously gone to Belfast where his daughter was born in 1880, but I cannot trace him or Ann Mary Ryan. Elizabeth M Hollis is listed as "granddaughter" born Belfast aged 10 on the 1891 census with James and Elizabeth Isle of Wight?? what's happened to her parents?? Someone suggested he may have been a soldier of some sort. Can anyone solve this one. :- |

Have you found Elizabeth in 1901, and have you got a wedding certificate for her? |

I have just sent off for her marriage certificate , she married Alfred Horatio Sheaf on the Isle of Wight in 1903... But it wont tell me what happened to her parents... I thought I might have found them on the 1881 census in Ireland??? :-S :-S |

Yes!! I did see the marriage details of Samuel, it listed Samuel as "batchelor" and on the 1911 census (same occupation) aged 57 married 16 years..No sign of Annie tho. I did wonder if this was the same Samuel and perhaps he never married Elizabeth Marys mother Ann Mary Ryan.?? |

His marriage certificate to Annie Stewart in 1896 lists his occupation as "pensioner" I think, it could be "messenger" its hard to make out, at first I thought it said "prisoner" anyhow his father is listed as James (deceased) :-S |
