EDIT: Looks like there were two Gordon E Patchett's born MA about the same time so will need to work out which one this is.
EDIT2: Could possibly be the same one double counted.

The other Gordon E is in hospital in 1930 so that 1940 census seems to be for the other one.

I'm starting to think that those census records DO relate to the same person. Maybe he was a long term in-patient but his family recorded him as part of the family on the 1930?


EDIT: OK, I've amended 1830 to 1930 (now that would have been a really long hospital stay).

Yes, I really do think Gordon's enumerated twice. There definitely seems to just have been the one birth for that name (when I first saw two 1930 census records I initially assumed two different men).

I think the lack of a Social Security death record for him indicates the poor chap was possibly never registered for a number if unable to work through ill health.
