I wonder if anyone is able to look up a marriage between an Adelle South Gensemer and a Mr Dailey. Adelle was born 1916 Ohio and died 1987. Worked at Kentucky University up until 1944 and from 1960-81. Music Library at University is named after her.

I would like to know if possible first name of husband Dailey, marriage year/date, names of any children would be a bonus.

I do not think she remarried as her headstone has Adelle Dailey, also references to her from memos within Kentucky University refer to her as Adelle Gensemer Dailey and retirement notice in 1981 she was still Dailey.

wonder where the Headley comes in?

It seems a remarkable coincidence that Kentucky University had two Adelle/Adele Daileys in their music department.

Can find them from 1945 to 1960 at the same address.

If Adelle was at Kentucky University up to 1944 and then from 1960 then that fits. Perhaps she stopped work when she married and then resumed after either death of her husband, or perhaps divorce.

The city directory shows Adelle's husband as an oral surgeon, this is a possibility for him:

I've tracked her and she was the daughter of Hal and Martha. Her WW2 registration has her as a stenographer. Sometimes spelled Adelle.

Is it possible she was a secretary at KU and the uni has somehow combined their two names in error?
