I’m trying to trace the marriage of my Great Great Grandparents, captioned above. Ann is thought to have been born in Scotland around 1837 - 1842. Richard is thought to have been born about 1824, possibly in Wales (as per Census records).

Their fourth son, my Great Grandfather Richard Blower, was born to them on 30 August 1872. As of that date the family lived at 18 Lydia Ann St, Liverpool. Richard Snr. is noted on the BC as a Drayman *.

I have found Ann Blower (WIDOW) in the 1881 Census living at 23 Lydia Ann St with sons Thomas, James, Frank and Richard. Her age is given as 39 and her place of birth as SCOTLAND.

I have found a 1871 Census record which shows Richard and Ann Blower living at 99 Henry St, Liverpool with sons Thomas, James and Frank. Richard’s age is given as 50, with place of birth Wales, occupation warehouse keeper. Ann’s age is given as 34, with place of birth LONGTOWN, CUMBERLAND.

Richard Blower Snr. looks to have died in 1875. I can find no death records for Ann.

* Richard’s occupation was also given as Drayman on the baptism records of his first son Thomas (born 1867). On the MC of his son Richard he was noted as a carter (deceased).

Anything that might lead to the marriage and / or more info on the Spottiswood line would be much appreciated. I’m guessing Richard and Ann probably married around 1866, the year before the birth (in Liverpool) of their first son Thomas.

Many thanks.
