Would be interesting to know if middle name of Hector is used on marriage cert and shown on death cert

Might be worth getting his marriage cert. to see who he lists as his father. I can't see him on other censuses.

Rose - It does look like Eye on the census. I'm not used to the hanwritting but there is definatly only 3 letters

I'm sure Mike*. There are several bits of evidence.

1 - He lived with Annie in Bethnal Green, where the marriage was registerd

2 - They had a son together, Charles Arthur Ling, in 1919. His mothers maiden name is listed as Crook

Because it's quarter past one in the morning. A typo, sorry for the confusion. The image is a copy of the census, identical to what GB put but without the last three names. It has Arthur, Mary, Florence, Annie and Charles.

GlitterBaby - That's exactly what I have, he married a year later. I suspect thats how he met Annie, boarding at her fathers house.
