There was no legal adoption in 1902, perhaps she was looked after by a relative?. who is named as her father on her marriage certificate?

Ericthered

Ericthered Report 22 Nov 2008 20:46

The birth reg'n will be on freebmd...if you purchase the cert, it will name her mother....at least. This assumes that the name you quote was her birth name..................

There is no obvious Marion Marguerite Harvey showing for 1911.

Keep being drawn to this one - can't find her in 1911 - can't find a death - can't find anyone with that surname in the Lancashire area.

Perhaps someone else can have a look to eliminate ?

Death was in Berkshire, but don't know if that's of any significance:

England & Wales, Death Index: 1916-2005

Name: Marion Marguerite Worrall
Birth Date: 25 Mar 1902
Death Registration Month/Year: 1974
Registration district: Windsor
Inferred County: Berkshire
Volume: 10f
Page: 2167

As she was born late March, her birth may not have been registered until the second quarter.

Can anyone trace this girl in the1911:

England & Wales, FreeBMD Birth Index, 1837-1915

Name: Marion Marguerite Horrell
Year of Registration: 1902
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Leeds (1837-1929)
County: Yorkshire - West Riding
Volume: 9b
Page: 514a

I can't see a census, marriage or death (but perhaps some better eyes can?)

EDIT: Snap!

MarieCeleste Report 4 Apr 2011 20:44

Lea, I'd recommend you buy a copy of her marriage certificate (if you don't have one, to see what it says for father's details)

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 4 Apr 2011 20:48

Oh well, Joseph - it least it's there for elimination purposes.
