Vanessa, Elizabeth is a relation of Thomas.

How do you know she was adopted? Where did the story of her being brought up by Nuns comes from?

I think asking at local libraries in the Widnes area is a good idea- they may be able to point you in the right direction- however-

I've just been reading a post on another site that suggests the electoral registers for the dates you require may be missing, but years from 1934 onwards may be available. Fingers crossed this isn't the case, although it might be still worth checking who was at the address in later years.

Just another thought- I'm not Catholic, so this might be rubbish (and I hope someone with more knowledge can help!), but at confirmation is a name added?? I have a feeling my neighbour has her confirmation name as her middle name- although this isn't listed on her birth certificate. Could she have just been Marion Harvey? Or Marianne/ Mary Ann variants?

It might worth enquiring at the Lancashire Records Office about catholic baptism records:
http://www.lancashire.gov.uk/libraries-and-archives/archives-and-record-office.aspx

Also, just bear in mind, the year of birth could be wrong- I have a two death certificates from my family that were a year out on the DOB.

Perhaps you could try contacting the Widnes Historical Society?
http://www.widneshistoricalsociety.org.uk/
(Though there doesn't seem to be a lot on their website.)

Or the family history group:
http://www.widnes.liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/

Try asking local libraries about electoral rolls.

Just out of interest, who were the witnesses on her marriage?

Have you checked the electoral registers to see who was living at 53 Moon Street?

Earlier queries, presumably by Lea or his wife, about R Davies, confectioner.
No replies there, either:

Oh well, Joseph - it least it's there for elimination purposes.

Lea, I'd recommend you buy a copy of her marriage certificate (if you don't have one, to see what it says for father's details)

Can anyone trace this girl in the1911:

England & Wales, FreeBMD Birth Index, 1837-1915

Name: Marion Marguerite Horrell
Year of Registration: 1902
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Leeds (1837-1929)
County: Yorkshire - West Riding
Volume: 9b
Page: 514a

I can't see a census, marriage or death (but perhaps some better eyes can?)

EDIT: Snap!

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 4 Apr 2011 20:30

Death was in Berkshire, but don't know if that's of any significance:

England & Wales, Death Index: 1916-2005

Name: Marion Marguerite Worrall
Birth Date: 25 Mar 1902
Death Registration Month/Year: 1974
Registration district: Windsor
Inferred County: Berkshire
Volume: 10f
Page: 2167

As she was born late March, her birth may not have been registered until the second quarter.

Keep being drawn to this one - can't find her in 1911 - can't find a death - can't find anyone with that surname in the Lancashire area.

Perhaps someone else can have a look to eliminate ?
