Looks like Carol to me, too, which is what I put originally - (though Elliott not Elliot, my apologies)
Not sure whether V or Y when you compare with other letters on the page.

Worth getting the marriage certificate to check? Might be useful to find out about him?

There's another (male) Carol V Elliott marriage in 1980 London- wonder if it's a second marriage for him?
