There are several deaths for a Thomas Thompson born c1884 died Gateshead reg district so you would need more info on him to find the right cert

Afraid the other names you quote would need more background on them as they aren't unusual names

My name is emma wilson i am 41 years old. My father was george william wilson he passed away in 1986 at the age of 42. He was adopted or given up as a child and I am trying to trace any family. I have found out that from his birth certifcate that his birth mother was eleanor m Thompson . The granmother that I grew up with was grace wilson whos maiden name Thompson eleanors sister. Grace married william e f wilson who I adpted george my father. I know there were other thmpson not sure about them. On my fathers birth registration eleanor m thompson has obery as mothers name who I believe is a sarah obery ? I have been trying to trace my dads side of family tree a while but got a bit stuck tjis far. My father was born 5th dec 1943 I mother eleanor m Thompson.

I live and was bought up in derbyshire. My father moved here as ayoung man from gateshead and married my mother grace moved here later on but I never knew my father wad adopted.

The informant on her mums death cert could be family that will give you some clue.

would seem sister Grace may have adopted your dad as he wasknown later as Wilson?

so they had been married some time before your dad was born .

They may not officially adopted him though just changed his name to Wilson. You can be known as any name as long as its not to defraud.

Your dads adoption papers though would only be open to him . If he has passed away then the papers are closed I am afraid
