I am looking for details of my great grandfather John Murtagh who I believe was born in Howth (Dublin) around 1876. He married a lady called Jane Lawlor. They moved to Barrowinfurness and had 3 children, John Gerard, Margaret (married Jack Landon and moved to Denton) and Patrick. Patrick died in 1928 and is buried in Barrow Borough Cemetry along with his mother Jane (1952) and John Murtagh was laid to rest also in 1963 when he was flown from the Isle of Man to be laid to rest. |

I am unsure where he married, but am informed that it is likely to be In Howth in Dublin before moving to Barrowinfurness in Cumbria. I am trying totrack down his actual date of birth. I do know that he was Roman Catholic. |

I have managed to trace his buriel and the dates but cannot get any further records for him as his death certificate in the IOM prior to his transportation to Barrow for buriel does not state his date of birth. Therefore the archives people say that they cannot furnish me with any more details. |
