I'm not on Broadband at home. Two and a half miles from the centre of a County town. One mile outside the town boundary. A quarter of a mile from a telephone exchange. But no go. Can't get cable TV or Freeview either. At least the stagecoach comes past twice a week now!

Thanks for sharing that with us NOBers Chris. I am going to ask GC to set up a Not on Broadband board so we can watch our own paint dry!! Shelli - if when you go onto any website and you see the hourglass cursor as the page loads (which can sometimes take several minutes) then you're not on broadband. Graham

Hilary Broadband is a faster form of internet connection. It also allows you to use a phone on the same line as a computer. Cost for a domestic user is about £25-£30 a month as opposed to around £13 to £15 for a dial-up connection.

I am another NOB. My internet is via ntl Cable TV. I find it occasionally temperamental and the rest of the time totallymental!!! But it only costs me £7.50 a month. Jim Gosport, HAM

BT's goalposts certainly HAVE changed. the original target was if 200 people in an area require broadband it triggers installation, now its 500. Hmmmmmmm and NO i'm not on BB. I am ISDN but thats expensive for 64k. BB is being rolled out in Africa FASTER than BT is doing it here..........

Carole Report 2 Jul 2003 00:46

Yes me! Plus: I don't have channel 5 or digital tv or radio either and have no intention of getting any of it until analogue gets swithced off and I can no longer get a dial up connection! PS: broadband operates in my area.
