Len of the Chilterns Report 16 Mar 2004 23:09

Thank you, She and all those who sent me birthday greetings. I feel quite overwhelmed or, as my grandson would express it, "gobsmacked". We had a luncheon party for family and friends at The Lambert Arms in Lewknor and they really did us proud. Its a first class place to eat and drink. I was a wee bit unsteady on my feet afterwards but fully fit for the afternoon and evening sessions. It seems apt to quote Dr Johnson: "If a man does not make new aquaintances as he advances through life, he will soon find himself alone. A man should keep his friendship in constant repair". It will be my 90th in March 2114 - if anyone fancies coming along to the knees-up Bless you all Len
