Does anyone from Scotland remember Tatties, and do they still make them? Actually they probably don't they were a health hazard! Somes ort of Brown goo covered in I think it was cinnamon flavoured powder, with a tiny toy inside - just right for choking on!

Yes Maggie you can get tatties! Try Safeway, they had them in there big bags at the sweetie section. They don't have toys in them though and don't quite taste as good as I remember when I was young!

Tracy Blackburn - Thanks for your reply. When I was little my mum used to buy me "Twinkle" comics. I also remember eating crisps that were shaped like fish and chips. I wonder if these are still around

Debbie

Debbie Report 30 Mar 2004 22:04

Oh Samantha I remember Twinkle. And the crisps I think they used to be salt and vinegar flavour and they were really salty. I'm sure I have seen them somewhere. I will keep my eye out. Debbie

Sam (hope you don't mind being called that) Up to a couple of years ago they were - I'll have a look next time I'm at cash & carry. Also the chicken ones eh! I also remember Nestles (then Rowntree Mackintoshes) doing a dark chocolate Toffee crisp for export only but the female members of my family used to work there and we were brought home Throw-outs. Also Cabana Bars - coconut and cherry and what about those coffee matchmakers oooooooohhhhh delicious (Another withdrawn product).

Fish 'n' Chips - little 8p bag of "fish" and "chip" shaped snacks. Bag had faux newsprint on the front. Came in Salt 'n' Vinegar or - yes! - "Mashed potato flavour". Thats what I just found on Google and it was on a site about memories of different sweets and snacks.
