I've got 3 on my mams side and none on my dads as he was an only child.

Three cousins from my dad's sister's family. Only a handful of 2nd cousins or 1st cousins once removed. Hard to believe that just three generations ago we had two families with 11 children each and one family with 19.

I was surprised to find this thread revived. Maggy, I am so pleased for you that you have contact with your Australian branch. Well done Mike!

Just had to put another update to this thread. With the help of Genes I have now found my cousins in Scotland. Was looking through the Names Summary last week and noticed the name of one of my cousins, e-mailed them, and it was his daughter! Have now had a lovely e-mail from him. Thank you Genes and thank you again Elisabeth for starting the thread, you're a star!! You have helped me find 6 cousins. Maggy

OMG I have just added them all up and I have, are you ready for this 50 yes 50 My mum is one of 12 and my dad is one of 8, 32 cousins on mums side and 18 on dads. How am I going to get that lot on my family tree LOL. Love Debs.

I have three on my dad's side but they are all adopted. Dad only has the one sister and mum only has a brother. He and his wife didn't have any children. Sorry, my partner just reminded me about my dad's half brother and sister who I am trying to track down so I could have more that I don't know of. Mel

I have 2 first cousins on my Mum's side but do not know how many on my Dad's side. He had 3 sisters but I know nothing about them. Viv

I have (I think) about 13 on my Mum's side (14 if you include my uncle who was adopted by his sister!) Though they are all stepcousins really and two of them were also adopted stepcousins. On my Dad's side I think about 5 ish. Thank God it's not my other halfs family, his grandparents were prolific. Mothers Mother had 13 etc. Whenever we go to a family do I meet more of them and we've been together 22 years. I often see him chatting away to these people at weddings etc and when I ask out of curiousity "who was that then?" I always get the reply, "I don't know, one of my cousins, don't know which though."

27 first cousins - 12 of them on my mums side and 15 on my dads side.

35 on my mum's side and 1 on my dad's. Guess which side is Irish! Jacky:-)

I have no cousins my dad is an only child and my mum's twin brother died, we must be one of the few irish families who have no family lol, but its the reason I became interested in genealogy in the hope that I have some 2nd or 3rd cousins out there somewhere. Lynda

First cousins - I have 51 - 25 on Dads side and 26 on Mums. The eldest is 52 years old and the youngest is 10 years old. I know them all by name and have met all but 6. Couldn't count 2nd cousins, too many, but know lots. My children have 31 to date!

Swaffield Cousinry is world wide and I have never counted them all up,but we communicate with each other and celebrate all marriages , births, and fly in from all over the world for funerals. I suppose we are a Clan really Hallo to all Swaffields out there,love to hear from you if you havn't contacted us yet. There is always room for one more. Hugs Rose
