You were Russell and Chris Elstob, and there have been many more since! Funnily enough Russell the first info you got for me gave me even bigger clues only yesterday and I am so excited, you advised me never to part with any information as sometimes the trail leads back and you were so right!! Somewhere along the way (and I don't know how as I am pretty clueless on computers) I stopped being a novice and in turn often help others, which pleases me no end. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL. My first help came from Vera Bromage and Crista in the US who both helped me get started.Vera also helped me when I joined the local History Society. Crista,She,Kathleen Fennell,Max ,Jenny in Staffs ,Bren in Oldham Peter Dud and Bill in Oz and afew others all gave me encouragement on various things last summer . Just reading the boards and seeing how helpful everyone is great and can answer questions you have been wanting to ask. If I have not said so before( Ihope I did)thank you so very much for your help.

My first helper came when I asked for help looking for a marriage, back then it was a bit different and a few people had a go at me and told me to get of my fat backside. I had a lot of support, ad a few days later William Williams from Liverpool had found it at his frc. I could not believe how he could do that for someone he didnt know. I still have the email he sent. and that was the first marriage Certificate I sent for which started me in the right direction. Also Monica Chiles and Vera Bromage were always there to be of assistance since then there are just so many kind and wonderful people that have helped me. I want to thank you all so much. Debbie

Vera Bromage gave a very comprehensive reply to my first question about Registrar's offices. She was a great example of being patient with people when they are starting out. Thanks Vera! I cannot devote as much time to family research as I would like to, but the help you gave me got me going. Richard Chippenham
