Hi Sandra, I`ve got two, one on each fore arm. One is 2 hearts with a dagger through them, with scrolling top and bottom, with mine and Jan`s names in the scrolls. The other is 2 roses with leaves and scrolling, with mum and dad in the scrolls. I had these done when I was 16, and never regretted it. In fact I`m thinking about having some more done , to honour my brother and deceased friend.

Hi Sandra, I now have 3 Tattoos and love them,I plan to have another this summer my first was when I was 41 as a tribute to my mum, I have a red rose with mum on it, she died when i was 40 and i think she would be pleased at what i had done to remember such a wonderful person. I also have a spitfire plane as dads tribute, this was done year after mums although he died when i was 10, and the latest is a sweet little giraffe with kerri under( who is my daughter) I have promised my son he is next so he will be this summers one, not sure what to have yet though. regards June

Ive Got 4 Tattoos and i have to say i love them because i chose and designed them myself. It took ages for me to decide wot i wanted to have. I decided with mine that the tattoos i wanted would all have to be of the same thing ( Flowers mainly Roses) Only because i didnt want to have all different ones on my skin. So far ive got a Single Rose on my shoulder, Roses and Thornes intwined on my lower back. Flowers climbing my ankle and Roses and Hearts climbing up my thigh. Ive decided that i wont have any more done as it will look too over powering. Tattoos are a nice thing to have makes you feel more individual however if any of you decide to have on you should make sure you really think it through and have a design you want. Shelley

I have 2: a blue rose bud on my left shoulder and chinese writing that says CAT on the back of my left shoulder. Both are very small. I was 34 when I got my first one and the other about a year later. My sister has a dolphin on the back of her shoulder. She also has her tongue pierced which I couldn't do. My other sister has her belly button pierced as have my two nieces. I don't like to see a lot of tattoos on women but they look ok on men. Mel

I really dont like them, perhaps a small one hidden so no one else can see it. But when you see a woman showing it off I reckon it looks awful. My boyfriend has a chinese dragon on his back and most of the time it is covered up so I dont mind. Thats the trouble there are too many young one having them done. What are they going to feel about them when they are older. Debbie

Just wanted to tell anyone who doesn't already know about laser removal. My son-in-law had fairly large tattoo's done on his arms and legs when he was young and lived to regret it. He is now in the (LONG,PAINFUL AND EXPENSIVE) process of having them removed. He came to visit a day after treatment and his leg was swollen to almost twice the normal size. Please be sure before you have a tattoo, laser isn't just an easy removal option. Sorry if I sound like the voice of doom - I'm only saying think about it first. Chris

I love them, but think I've left it too late now at 43. My daughter has chinese writing and tiny flowers around it on her shoulder blade. my husband has quite a few - a tree on his arm, with little apples in the branches with our names in and room for more (for G children), a panther in bushes on the other arm, a beautiful blue fairy sitting on a toadstool and various other small ones, done when he was young and he hates those. He wants another one, but can't decide what yet. My son is going to have a welsh dragon on his arm when he is old enough. M.

Yes i believe you should have a tattoo for something you believe in, in i certainly have, of course a lot of people are anti also the same goes for piercings, although both practices have been going on for thousands of years..... just read the books.... its not a new fashion by any means,.

I have a tattoo at the bottom of my back. It's a design i saw whilst in the shop and it's black and red. Didn't hurt to have it done, just felt like a scratch really. The most uncomfortable part was having the outline of the design done but the colouring in bit was a doddle! Tracey

I was in hospital once with a young woman having a tattoo removed from her forearm. The donor site on her leg where they took the skin to cover the removed area, was so raw and painful. I know lasers have somewhat changed this but I think tattoos should be thought of as permanent, and thought about carefully before going ahead. I'm with Deidre, I loathe them, but each to their own, I say.
