Oh what a hot house it is in here lol The reason people so BLINDLY want to vote for the BNP is because we as a white CHRISTIAN nation have had our traditions squished, remoulded and have had to become politically correct to allow room for us to become so fashionably multi cultrual. We've lost our IDENTITY as the Great British Nation. We are no longer BRITISH as the Scots and Welsh move away from us and retain their roots. Voting BNP is not the right way forward - changing our governments policies on certain issues IS!!! When in Rome do as the Romans do is they way forward ( not forgetting charity begins at home attitude too ) . We must not be door mats - our Ancestors would be turning in their graves people lol!! I live in Northern Ireland ( born and bred Londoner though and proud of my English roots ) and my son would like to fly the ENGLISH flag from the garden to support our team - yet he can not do so as this could look like a secterian act as it looks like the Ulster flag and as we are coming up to Marching Season ( 12the July ) it could be mis read. Much happiness Debi

If we didn't have such a nanny state with all this political correctness (baa baa black sheep, etc) then the BNP would not exist. Kathy

This scares me. One of the BNP candidates in Staffordshire has just been convicted of football violence! What does that tell you? The literature coming through the door is frightening for this party. Every other sentence says something close to the mark about foreigners and then says "We are not racists". Well sorry, you are most definately racists, whichever way you look at it!! They will NOT be getting my vote. I too have an opinion on Asylum seekers (non-genuine) but am not going to share it here. I am already flying the St. George's cross (I'm Scottish) in preperation for the football. COME ON THE LADS... Pam

Marion, had to add this. Lots of people in Stoke-on-Trent fly the Union Jack or St. Georges Cross all year round. not just during football events. Pam

to everyone who replyed to this thread we are all fed up with the way the country is being run with poor national health services, money put in to a war that was to me unnessecary and expensive ,lives lost also in this war,out of control asylum entries into the country, european issues like keeping the pound and deciding our own future.i will not be voting b.m.p as i am a responsible adult and their policies are frightening.i want things to change with all of these issues to make britain great again.and thats why i am voting for the independence party.same views but changing them in the right way.robert kilroy-silk is campaigning for this party.free speech is what he was slated for and he wants people to be able to have this free speech which we keep being told we are allowed to do in this country but just lately people are being denied that.look tghem up on their website and see what you think.

well said jean,i think that the goverment don't question these people who come from all around the world and why they pick britain and not the next safe haven that is nearer.if they come from let say africa and they have not gone to the next safe country they should be sent back.it is because we are a country that can't say no we can't treat them unfairly but the goverment aren't worried about all the people that were born in this country who are waiting for treatment in hospitals, the pensioners who are dying each year through hypothermia through lack of money and lack of caring by the goverment.the homeless on the streets who were born in this country who are dying aswell through illness and neglect.i can but go on.

I think that the bnp party - is the last party that people should vote for - BUT - this is supposed to be a democratic country. We do not even appear to celebrate St George's Day (we had a St Patrick's Day parade - why not one for the ENGLISH patron Saint)? There is nothing wrong in being patriotic - wherever you originate. I think that whatever party gets in - once they are in - all the promises go up in smoke - and laws get voted in willy nilly. I heard a story - where a teacher was told to teach his/her class about the ethnic minorities. The teacher was reprimanded for teaching about something English, and the reply from the teacher was: I WAS teashing about the ethnic minority in my class - I have 1 English Pupil the rest come from all over. doesn't suprise me i ask my daughter if she celebrated st.georges day on that day .she told me no but they learn't aboutthe revolution.how disgusting is that.they don't even teach our kids anything about the two world wars that were fought but can teach them about ethnic religions.it is if we are talking about anything to do with britain it is classed as racist.has anyone told this goverment that the children should be taught about their history and culture before anyone elses.there losing there status.

OK, I've tried to keep out of this so far, as I don't really know what the answer is... but... Anyone who votes for the BNP, who are effectively just a slightly cleaned up version of the National front, should be ashamed of themselves, as the BNP are totally racist (even if they pretend not to be). Saying that, something needs to change, but I don't know what the answer is. I would love to live in a totally harmonious ethnically integrated sociaty, but it will never happen. And part of the problem is that there are an awful lot of these "peaceful ethnic minorities" that are nothing of the sort. From experience, I find that they're more racist that we are - and if anyone wants to challenge that I defy you to do and live where my neice does (who's half italian by the way). She lives in a predominantly Asian area and she gets called names and spat at as she waks down the street for being white, and where a local pub got firebombed because it's opposite a mosque (and had been there for probably a hundred years previously). I must stress - I have NOTHING against people whose ancestry lies in different countries living here, but they should abide by our laws and intergrate with our society, just as we would expect to do if we went to their country. I also agree strongly with those that say we should proudly display the union jack/george cross as is out right. Imagine someone telling an American that they could not fly the stars and stripes for fear of upsetting "minorities" ???

Sent to me via email recently... Goodbye to my England - so long my old friend! Your days, they are numbered, being brought to an end. To be Scottish, or Irish, or Welsh, that's just fine, But don't say you're English, 'cause that's way out of line. The French and the Germans, they may call themselves such, As may the Norwegians, the Swedes and the Dutch. You can say that you're Russian, or maybe a Dane, But don't say you're English, no, not ever again. At Broadcasting House that word is taboo, In Brussels they've scrapped it, in Parliament too. Even schools are affected, teachers do as they're told, They mustn't teach children about the England of Old. Writers like Shakespeare, and Milton, and Shaw, Do our children not learn about them any more? What of Agincourt, Hastings, of Arnhem and Mons? When She gave up the lives of Her bravest of sons. We are not Europeans. How on earth can we be? Europe is miles away; over the sea! We're the English, from England, so let's all be proud. Stand up and be counted. - SHOUT IT OUT LOUD. I've a love for my neighbours, that they'll never deserve, But their customs and cultures, I'll always observe. We know the Jocks hate us, and so do the Frogs, but I won't let my England just go to the dogs. So let's tell our Government - and Brussels too, We're proud of our heritage, and the Red, White and Blue. Fly the flag of St George with the Union Jack. Let the world be aware, - we want our England back. It don't take a scholar or a History Don, To know that a pendulum swings on & on, The English have taken 'bout as much as they can, Just watch us swing back to be heard, man for man. The wise old historian he knows what lies there! "Let sleeping dogs lie and treat them with care", 'cause if you should rouse them, you'd better take flight, As the dogs turn to Lions to regain theirs as a right.

I agree with you lot about the immigrant thing, i don't particulaly want them here either, but if the BNP get in power were will they stop, they'll get rid of the immigrants fair enough but what happens after they've finished with them, will they move onto handicapped people, gay people, etc, anybody thats different will be penalized just like they were when Hitler was in power. Surely we are all better than this. Dawn

Dawn Report 2 Jun 2004 19:50

I agree with you lot the immigrant situation is ridiculous but voting for the BNP will not help anything. Where will they stop if they get in power, first off it will be the immigrants, then it'll be gay people, handicapped people, anybody thats differnt will be penalized for it. Just think if your doing your familytree and you have foreign blood somewhere in there you'll probably be classed as not fully British so you'll have the same treatmeant as the others. Were all better than this so for everybodies sake DON'T VOTE BNP. Dawn

I, for one, will certainly not be voting for the BNP as they are as said before by a few, just a bunch of racists. On a site such as this, which is at the end of the day to find our roots, we will discover that our ancestors came from all over, different countries and lifestyles. Me, I want to embrace this, but I don't believe that we have to have greater ties with these different countries in order to do this. I am not a racist but I would like to see our beautiful country being recognised for what it is.... small. We do not have the resources to open up for all and sundry. I will be flying the English flag and the Union Jack as I am British and am proud of that fact.
