sylvia i hope your mother washed them first,my mother used to put them in xmas pud,actually like julia i have a bag of old coins farthings,silver threepenny bits,yellow threepenny bits,all the down to a crown,got a couple of ten shilling notes and old white fiver that my dad gave me for xmas when i was 11yrs old i will never part with that. sue

Gwyneth, What do you mean about wrapping threepenny pieces in greaseproof paper. My mother just threw them in the puds! I am still living though. Sylvia

I have Silver threepenny pieces, Old half pennies, farthings, halfcrowns and until a couple of years ago an old white Fivepound note, Ahhh yes I remember them well Julia

My mother must have collected a few of these coins because come Christmas time we would find one carefully wrapped in greaseproof paper in our portion of homemade Christmas pudding.

Who remembers those very small silver threepenny pieces? I have two bracelets made up of these little coins. Actually the Dutch also have an old coin, similar in size, and I have an armband made of these. I'm worth my weight in silver I feel when I wear these! Sylvia
