following on from natalies excellent thread about men,and bearing in mind that us fellas are outnumbered on here,i have this question for you!...why do us fellas have to put the toilet seat down, and if we forget, why is there such an outcry? its not the end of the world!but if we leave the seat up,it might as well be!......bryan.

In my house both men and women have to put the lid as well as the seat down so there is no argument and also a closed toilet looks so much better. Janet

A toilet looks ugly when the seat is up makes the bathroom look untidy, so much tidier when its down, as i would like to see it all the time. Margaret

Bryan, I am coping and pasting from Nat's thread;-)))) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bryan, It's the thought of having to touch the toilet seat in order to put it down. I would have to fetch my rubber gloves. Lindy;-)))))

A Poem For Boys - Author Unknown The grossest thing for me to see is my bathroom floor all full of pee. Why can't they make it in the bowl? Don't they see there is a hole? Out in the woods, they think it's cute to see how far a guy can "shoot." But in the house, it's plain to see there is a bowl in which you pee! (It's usually white & kinda round you hit the water, not the ground.) Why can't they make it in the bowl? Is it a problem with control? If not control, then tell me why they make my bathroom such a sty? Come on guys, get a clue! You know what you have to do. Be a human-not a pig and don't forget to lift the lid. When you're done, make it flush don't always be in such a rush. Then take the lid & push it down (don't make us women feel like clowns) Falling in, it is not fun getting water on your buns. Zip up your pants, & you're all done now wasn't that a lot of fun? Keep this little poem in mind Your woman will find you very kind.

A toilet seat should always be put down before flushing, that way the contents don't get splashed back onto the floor, and no reason why men can't sit, then maybe they wouldn't miss!! LOL

LOL Judy! I like it! Bryan, I'm another one who likes things neat and tidy. I trained my hubby and son from day 1 to CLOSE THE LID! They always do, but I think they are frightened of me, I'm a bossy mare LOL

the best suggestion,is that men sit down as well, then we wouldnt have this problem, but its a bit late in the day for that ime afraid. bryan.

Hi, I'm new to this, but I just had to add my bit on this discussion. I come from a family of 5 sisters and I have two daughters and they always complain if the toilet seat is left up by myself or my son. I figure it's just as easy to put it down as it is lift it up. So where's the problem

Unknown

Unknown Report 2 Jul 2004 22:08

i agree with you bruce, but sometimes we forget, and then a holy row ensues. marion,i know wot you mean,as a kiddy in wales,we didnt have a seat cover, in our outside toilet, and often adders would slide in,with no lights either it was scary at nite lol. bryan.

Bruce Report 2 Jul 2004 22:09

Thanks Jean, hi to you to. I figure with a seat up or down it has to be better then the toilets that don't have a seat and you have to crouch down, like in Asia

Bruce

Bruce Report 2 Jul 2004 22:12

I live in Oz and when i lived out bush we had an outside dunny and you had to check it for redback spiders before you sat down or you got bitten on the bum

Bruce

Bruce Report 2 Jul 2004 22:24

It's even better when you get a green tree frog sharing the toilet with you, but at least they are not poisonous. I have a sister in law who is terrified of frogs and absolutely refuses to use the toilet if there is a frog in there. It has amused the family on numerous occasions to hear a blood curdling scream and to see her just about rip the toilet door off to get out. LOL

bruce, our local rugger team..neath..is called the all blacks, cos we couldnt afford toilet paper, and had to use newspaper, and the black print would come off onto our bums, hence the nickname lol bryan.

Bruce

Bruce Report 2 Jul 2004 22:37

I can relate to that Bryan. What people have had to use for toilet paper would be a whole new discussion topic.
