Hi Sharon and Paul (Levi), hope your Mam is ok. My husband had a stroke 2 years and 13 days ago at the age of 44. He suffered problems with walking, but the main problem was memory loss. He is now back at work (temporary) and is fine, he still has problems with the memory, especially if he's tired or stressed. Progress was very slow in the beginning, but things get better. Wishing your Mam and you both lots of luck and love. M.

Here's hoping she makes good progress, it can be done as we meet up once a year with my mother-in-law's best man who had a stroke about 4 years ago and has virtually all his faculties back apart from a bad limp requiring a stick. On the other hand one of our oldest friends who is 58 this month contracted Parkinson's which was only diagnosed earlier this year, although she's had progressive difficulty for a couple of years, and she's far worse than him physically.
