Hello, I had to share this with you as there's no one else in the house. I've just come in and went to the downstairs loo, and theres a little frog about 2" long swimming about in it. I've slammed the lid down as I cant bear to flush it away incase it gets hurt, but I can't bring myself to pick it up. This is the second time this has happened, but how do they get there? I suppose it must have snuck in when the door was open - ughh it could have been in the house all night. Does anyone know if a little frog that size could jump high enough to get into the toilet, or will it have somehow come in through the pipes? I'm so pleased ive got another loo upstairs lol

Don't they have little suckers on their feet - perhaps that's how it got in. This is exactly the situation that calls for an old soup ladle !!

Mags, dont know if i could bring myself to pick it up on a spoon, it might jump off. I know its pathetic but I hate them.

If you feel able, get a plastic bag and catch it in the toilet. Then take it outside. Have a stiff drink after!

Sheila. what about scooping it into an old tupperware type box and putting the lid on quick. Ooo I'm getting shivers just thinking about it!!!! Christine

John, what happens if it tries to swim away and goes down the pipe?I feel such an idiot but i really am scared off them,

I've just rang my dad and he's on his way to rescue me lol. Fancy still relying on your dad at my age!!!!!

You'll be fine! Put the plastic bag over your hand, put your hand down the toilet to catch the frog in your hand. With your other hand turn the bag inside out while you're still keeping it closed and hey presto. Tupperware idea sounds good too. If you're quick he/she won't get away!

Jean, dad has just arrived and is about to remove my visitor. That's 2 ive had in the last week and ive no idea how they are getting there.

Hi Sheila, my cat brings frogs home as 'presents' for me. The last one after being carried with its back legs sticking out of the cats mouth decided sit in the hall until I was brave enough to get it in the dustpan and take it outside.Urgh!!!

The deeds been done and now the frog has been returned to freedom in my back garden. Im making dad a nice cuppa now as a reward lol. Think i will stick to the upstairs one in the future :-)

Sheila Just to let you know i have a pond in the garden last count of frogs last year when we cleaned the pond out was 27 and they have had lots and lots of little ones i love them so sweet Hope you soon get that poor frog out the toilet Margaret

sheila frog in the bog, i am so sorry but i can't stop laughing, maybe if you put the loo seat down it won't happen,and then if you find another one you'll know there coming in through the pipe. i am sorry for laughingg its not nice when your scared of something, i did have a spider in the loo once he was huge and i was not kind like you he was flushed lol sandra ps thank god for dads to help us.

Sheila This happened to us many years ago when we lived in a bungalow, apparently they swim in the drains and come up in to the loo that way. Some people, when their children lose interest, throw frogsporn or tadpoles down the grid, and then they grow into frogs, they are usually yellowy coloured because they aren't used to daylight. This is what the Environmental Health people told us at the time.

Oh Sheila I do feel for you they are sweet but yuk I couldnt touch one either. Look on the bright side though at least you didnt wee on it !!! Imagine your poor dad then. (Sorry to lower the tone folks) Penny
