Hello Everyone, Very many thanks for all your birthday greetings. Have just returned home last night from a "surprise" long weekend in Jersy with Paula, so have just read all your messages! Weather not too bad in the Channel Islands, just one day (the 11th!) when it was really dismal. My first visit, so great to see all the charm and attraction of an English speaking sunspot so close to home. Tourist industry this year apparently not very good, locals not sure why. Also fascinating, of course, to find out a lot more about the wartime occupation. I'll be very interested to watch the new Sunday night series on ITV, and see how it's all portrayed. Some of the locals are kicking up a fuss already! Talk to you all again, but many thanks for the greetings, much appreciated, makes up for some of the little s**s in my own family! Philip
