My heart goes out to you full of pride, I dread the thought of how it must have felt but well done for doing it.

Hi David, thank you for keeping us up to date ... like Gaynor, I've been adding to your previous threads and hoping you and your daughter had the strength to complete this task. I'm glad you did it together so that you could comfort each other, and also that you kept a few special things. The pain of losing your wife will never go away but it will get so much better and you will find yourself smiling more and crying less. Thinking of you both, you have a fantastic daughter there, love Mandy x

David - What you have had to do is not easy. I did the same when my dear Mum-in-Law passed away. We were very close and she was a very good friend to me. We kept some special things and the rest went to charity. When I look back I don't know how I did it, but it had to be done. Whatever you decided to keep will be a comfort, but nothing can ever take the memories away, and I am sure you have so many good ones. Wishing you all the very best. Win xx

David, Bless you for letting us know. Like so many have said before, I have thought about you a lot and your daunting task a lot. I have followed and added to your threads and am just so pleased for you that you have achieved it. WELL DONE - and thanks to your fab daughter too. As you say, you can now begin to get back to your family research, and hopefully many other things that will bring you happiness and contentment in the future. Take care Gaynor xxx

well done david, for finding the strength and glad you had the help of your daughter, i dotn know if i put it on the reply i managed to send but my first attempt wouldnt go on here weeks ago now, but i helped my dad with the sad task before i had to return to my married quarters with my hubby and kids, always felt i rushed dad before he was ready. i wanted to help him so he didnt do it on his own. he kept leaving the room for a tear break and i just cried all over mums belongings. i even had nightmares about it for years later, that was just me feeling guilty. 10 and half years now, it gets easier, but youll always have your memories. glad to hear you kept things back for memories. good luck in the future and my thoughts are with you and your family. im sure your wife is watching over you all and giving you the strength too to cope.
