I should like to make a recommendation regarding the 'TTF' message board - can you please make a facility to post a 'TTF' message about people who are NOT in your tree?? Currently you have to acces the board via a surname in your list. I am trying to get in contact/find a cousin in the States, but do not have her in my tree as I do not have enough info yet, so the 'TTF' post is not actually under her surname, and chances of her or someone she knows seeing it are somewhat reduced. Therefore I suggest a 'miscellaneous' board to enter messages for 'unlinked' surnames - please?? :)

Does anybody mind if I nudge this again? It would be nice if Michelle would reply o the queries raised by her own thread...

Can I just nudge this? As I pointed out to Michelle in her thread on the Tips Board, this thread recieved lots of queries but most didn't get a response back from GR. A shame as it would have saved GR having lots of emails to answer--if they ever did bother to answer emails....

It has always been free to reply to messages sent via GR and we have no immediate plans to change this. The new emails were redesigned specifically to make it easier to respond to messages so should should get even more replies. Thanks, Michelle

Thanks Joy. We are updating the wording on the records office board.

Just wondering if this change to "reflect the look of Friends Reunited" means that people wishing to reply to our requests for contact won't be able to unless they are paid members (as happened on Friends Reunited when the messages were "stored" in a contact centre). This would undoubtedly mean a reduction in the amount of replies we get to our messages and would not be a step forward!! Hope Michelle can reassure us that non-paying members will still be able to reply to messages from paid members?? Thanks.

To echo Joys request... Can we download photos to the site. It would be nice to have a board entitled "members photos". maybe we can have a certain amount of space allocated for each of us ?? It would be nice to put names to faces... Elaine x

Will the update also improve the email delivery system? At present I only receive about 75% of initial messages from new contacts. I have to pick up the rest of them from Your Contacts. I emailed Support a week ago but despite the promised 2 day response time I've received nothing. Perhaps my email was also lost in the sausage machine? David (not a member of the GR fan club)

Just wanted to back up Badger Bill's request--I wanted to ask the same question, but didn't know how to word it! It would be nice if we could have a response back from Michelle, so we know we aren't talking to thin air???

Hi Michelle, Thanks for the info. Is there any way the sites can be altered so that when you view a message, say on page 4, when you click off you return to page 4, and not to page 1 as at present. Just a minor irritation, but when you have been searching for a while, you can forget which page you were on Best wishes Badger Bill

Michelle, If you read this, it has been suggested by some members that it might be a good idea to have an insert at the top of Records board to say something along the lines that members who do look ups are giving their time voluntarily. It is not a service offered by Genes re-unted etc.etc. It sometimes appears that people ask for this service as if it is due to them, rather than respecting the fact that people are looking up information on something they have had to pay for in their own time. It is not that people don't want to do look ups, we enjoy it. But nobody likes to feel they are being taken advantage of. thanks Ann Glos

I would also like to see page number "top and bottom" of the page. I can't get the whole page on one screen, therefore I have to keep scrolling up and down to change. That would save a lot of scrolling ! Thanks.
