There seem to be regional names for the same thing sometimes. In Hampshire I wore Plimsolls for P.E.lessons whereas my Welsh cousins called them Daps.When I worked in a school the children called them Pumps.

Jesus creeper type shoes from Curtesses 1.99 a pair, we used to call them Granny Bashers!!!! Don't know why, my mum used to get so cross as we weren't that sort of girlie gang at all. Julie

This is the third time around for winkle pickers . My mum wore them in the 60's, myself early 80's and now they are back. We had pork pie shoes - the ones with the big rounded toes? Wedgies - which I had in the 70's were quickly called BOATS by my father lol - now my hubby says it to our daughter - bless> Much happiness Debi
