my neice recently moved back to Milton Keynes from Bedford. This was partly because of the racial abuse that she and her boyfriend suffered at the hands of the largely asian community there. I've been over many times, and as a white English person I get looked at, and treated like, I shouldn't be there. It's disgraceful.

Jim, That is so wrong ,by all means if they need to keep a balance they should do it properly but i think you will find that sort of thing is in all companies and a lot of the time that policy dosen't work out and companies are left with egg on their face. Lisa, You are quite right our Heritage is very IMPORTANT, i am a big supporter of all the men who fought for us i don't like to think they fought in vain, the wars should be a lesson to us all of what heartache and loss of life it causes [tho obviously not to tony blair etc] and i would be furious if i were asked to remove my flag. i know how you feel paul.i think that we will never have a coming together of communities in certain areas as this has been going on for a long time .i think it works both ways and this should be recognised when the goverment bring out anlaw to state that if a person is racially abused whatever colour or religion they should be punished the same wayxx

To get back to the subject of the hymn. Didn't Princess Diana have it as a wedding hymn? I love it and would be very sorry if it was banned (No doubt followed by Jerusalem and Land of Hope and glory!) Ann glos

Enoch Powell forecast what would happen in Britain many years ago and nobody believed him. He retired in Ireland - why? Yes, I know why! Sylvia

'religion' is the pits. Jesus didn't like it at all especially the so calles religious leaders. NOW CHRISTIANITY that is a different ball game, all about love and caring and helping. Dedrah

A couple of years ago in Birmingham a white woman won a race discrimination case in a tribunal because they insisted that they would only employ someone who spoke Urdu. I think she was awarded several thousands in compensation.

Maybe we should be more like the french people, they all stand up for their rights, they make their voices heard, they just don't take the s**t that we take.

I believe Enoch had quarrelled with the powers that be and he felt the need to leave England. Anybody else know exactly why? It's so long ago and the man has since died. Sylvia

Hey Bob the white truck driver You are creating an act of discrimination in calling yourself "white". You can call yourself "yellow", "black" or a "mixture" for all I care. But............we do have to be careful which words we use these days. Don't I know!!!!!!!!!!! Sylvia

Membership of the EU benefits many aspects of British life. Increasing numbers of people in the UK work for companies that rely on trade and investment that the single market brings. Many people also benefit from EU funded education, training and environmental projects. Local to me, An area of Birkenhead called Europa Boulevard would not exist without EU funding. It contains a cinema, swimming baths and education facilities. The EU does alot of good despite having bad bits as well.

I vow to thee my country Hymns For Your Service I Vow To Thee My Country Words by Sir Cecil Spring-Rice This hymn is suitable as the second hymn sung after the marriage ceremony, which is in praise and celebration of the union. This hymn was also sung at Princess Diana's wedding. Good enough for Princess Di, good enough for us. I can't see what is wrong with the hymn, there is nothing in it about putting your country before God. It says "I vow to thee my country all EARTHLY things above". I don't think God can be described as an "earthly thing". nell
