I have searched the 1871 - 1881 - 1901 record on Ancestory and the 1891 Census on the Mormons site. But can not find any record of my wifes - Greenhalgh or Heywood UK ancestors. Are some records missing from the online searchable databases? Or are they still being added to and I should try again in a few months? Wayne Lawrence

Wayne sometimes you can put too much info in try just putting the name in or just the name and an area,sometimes they may not be in the area you think they are. Good Luck Chrissy.

Hi Wayne 1881, 1891 and 1901 should be complete. 1871 isnt complete yet it only has some areas. Have you tried searching with slightly different spelling of the surname? Good luck hunting. Karen

We have tried Hayward, Heyward and Haywood. but no luck. If someone wants to have a try and have a search for us I would be greatful. Wayne, On FreeBMD there are two Harolds that could be yours. One in Rochdale and the other in Salford. There's a Clifford born in Rochdale in 1903 so that doesn't help me find them in 1901. If you have his birth or marriage cert that will give you his father. Im in the 1901 census on Ancestry Plus I put in Enos Heywood and it finds nothing. So I guess its not complete. Wayne

Wayne There is a Harold Greenhalgh aged 3 born and living in Pendlebury, Lancaster (Pendlebury is in the Salford registration district). Perhaps if Crista has the census decoder she could look to see who else is in the household for you Jeanette

Thanks for that Crista Wayne Do you have the marriage certificate for Harold and Violet? If not try searching on 1837 online (I've looked on Freebmd, Yorkshire bmd and Lancashire bmd with no result). The marriage cert should give you the name of Harolds father and make them easier to find on the 1901 census. Of course if Clifford and John were younger than Harold they may not appear on the 1901 census. Hope this helps Jeanette
