Im thinking of opening a Genealogy Cafe.......... Say 5 or 6 PC's with hi speed internet access, I will have copies on CD of all the census'es as well as paid access to the many online websites that can be accessed as well. I will also have copies of Genealogical software for sale as well as other research material and books. I will run teaching clases for using the software, scanning pics and using programs like photo shop. I need some feed back as to what you all think of such an idea. Wayne

Hi Wayne, I don't want to rain on your parade but you may have problems with copyright issues. Many CDs specifically say they are for one person's use only and I think membership of some websites is the same. If you are running an open business someone is sure to rat on you. Gwynne

I would use it, I need all the help I can get, I'm one of those people who have to be shown how to do things, over and over lol, not much good at reading how to, it becomes over complicated, anybody else like that? Lynda

Copywrite may be a problem but you should be able to buy multiple use licenses, you can for most software.

Hi Wayne, I think that if you can get over any legal problems it's a brilliant idea. Lots of people have access to genealogy sites but the fact that they would have someone 'on tap' to help them make the most of them is great. I can see an International chain in the making! - make Britain's in Bolton and Mitcham first! Magsx

Hi Wayne, I think its a brilliant idea too. Where abouts do you live? I am also one of those people that hate having to read to find out how something works, would much rather be shown. June

Wayne, Good idea, don't forget to sell refreshments as well. Think most people would be like me..get engrossed in the computing side and not eat/drink for hours! You could make a fortune at this game, let us know how it pans out. Viv
