Mac Millan Cancer care are on the morning of Friday 24th September holding there annual WORLDS BIGGEST COFFEE MORNING, people and schools and business's all over the country will be participating. The Macmillan nurses and care advisers do tremendous work, not only caring for the terminaly ill, they also help support the people that are battling to survive this awfull illness, with financial support and helpful advice. I will be having my own small coffee morning in my home were friends and nieghbours will pop in, i made £220 last year, hope it will be more this time. PLEASE LOOK IN YOUR LOCAL PAPERS WERE YOU WILL FIND A LOCAL EVENT, PLEASE TRY AND ATTEND EVEN IF YOU JUST HAVE ONE CUP OF COFFEE IT WILL MAKE SUCH A DIFFERENCE TO A LOT OF SUFFERERS. THANKYOU DAVID

I'll keep an eye on the local press for mine too, David. MacMillan nurses need a lot of support as this is a very stressful job for them. I understand they can only do the job for a limited time because of the 'burnout' factor. Beth

My place of work will be closed that day so that the premises can be used for the coffee morning. It has expanded so much that more room is needed. As I will not be working :-), I will go along. Jacky

My best friend and I are holding one in a local cafe. Her Dad died of cancer two years ago, so it's an important cause to us both. Nice to think lots of us will be having a coffee at the same time--all for a wonderful cause! Sal

My husband is a coach driver (doing hols abroad) and they have a couple of days where all the profit they make selling drinks etc on the coach goes to the MacMillans. Last year they did really well and out of all the coaches involved they raised the most money. They also had raffles on the coach to raise money. The MacMillan nurses are wonderful. My mother-in-law recently died of cancer and she couldn't have received better care. Instead of family flowers we had donations for them and for the hospice she spent some time in. Elfx
