Lisa, you'd think that, but you might surprise yourself, and be stronger than you think. it's a horrible situation that no parent should go through, but... well it's a clict e but life does go on. and I do know what I'm talking about.

My son David is teminally ill but it still upset me watching the show. Then later on I caught the back end of "the boy who's skin fell off" on channel four, that is really moving,(seen it before) don't miss it if shown again. Bob

Bob I saw that too. Jonny was born the same year as me & alough id seen it before, i still had a good cry last night. Such pain and such courage, I too would not know how to go on if I lost a child. My mum was my age when she died of cancer & my nan & grandad had to just get on with life, as I had to. You know were all here for you Bob if you need to let of steam & talk. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} Elaine xx

David has Muscular Dystrophy and is 14. This horrible disease attacks the muscles and eventualy causes death by heart or lung failure. He can't do much at all now and we are having to look at an oxygen mask overnight. He was diagnosed at around six so we have had to face this for 8 years. The worst thing is the sense of not being able to help, Even with most cancers there is some hope. Believe it or not we have another child Christopher who is severely handicapped (needs feeding dressing bathing etc) but he has no disease like David and is as strong as an ox. We have another son Matthew who is ok. Would you believe there are families with three like David? We struggle so how they cope I don't know. Just remember, "There but for the grace of God" Bob

Thanks all. Not so sad at the moment as David and mum are going to see WWE in Sheffield on Thusday thanks to the wish foundation. Everything laid on and meets the wrestlers so should have a nice day. I'm looking after Chris (think we will have a pizza). Bob

I watched it and it was very moving. It would make you sit up and take stock of where you are in life. Our little boy has kidney problems and I am so grateful for the loveable, cheeky little rascal that he is despite his condition. At least I am around to be there for him.Caron didnt have that chance. Robert,I send you much strength to continue caring for your sons. Love,Fee B x

Bob, My thoughts are with you, there must be days when life is so exhausing for you and your wife. But I bet you would not have missed a minute of the boys' lives. you sound strong at the moment, I am sure extra strength comes to parents of handicapped children from somewhere. We all think we could't cope, but we would. Take care Bob and enjoy your son while you have him. are they doing research into muscular dystrophy? If only they could find a cure, and yes I have read of parents with 2 and 3 boys with the same illness. Such hard work. Best wishes Ann Glos
