Then I reckon to be absolutely certain about it, you need to go on the long Irish detective trail to find the marriage!! Which county, please, was he born? Joy

Do you know of any siblings of your gg grandfather Richard Oshea? Anyway, now that I know it is Dublin (crystal ball, that I have!), first of all, in order to save some money hopefully, if I were you, I would subscribe to the rootsweb Dublin mailing list and ask a few questions on it. It is free. ... and have a look at these. http://www.rootsweb(.)com/~irldublin http://www.iol.ie/~ajroche/ Joy

Hope that's right. Joy PS ** I get so fed up with putting remove brackets wouldn't let me put the @ sign either!!

Hi Daniel Have just sent you an e-mail that needs a reply please. Have only just come back on here after trying a few things to discover that everyone seems to be thinking on the Archibald theme like me. Cheers Chrissie

You are welcome - it feels so good to be able to 'give something back' after having been given so much help from people. Dan - you might come across my great-grandmother Susan McCusker in your 'travels' - 1881 and 1891 b Ireland - 1901 b Dublin! Joy

I might do Joy! The O'shea's are my maternal family. Where all the money is according to my grandad. Cousins in America who married into rich famalies. A g. Aunt even goes out and stays with them all expenses paid! Mad thing about the irish side is that they don't seem to keep there names. My g. granmother was called Margaret but known as Sheila, there is a Mary Ann who is known as Pauline and Catherine known as Tina. Why I ask, Why?

Cos their Irish, Dan!!! Yes, definitely the names vary and change from time to time. I must tell you one day (?!) about Margaret Nesbitt who we thought was McCusker. There again, Great-Granny was supposed to have come from Galway. Joy
