Oh bless her!! It's not a disimialr reaction here. her pet hate is ELLIE. One of her new friends ( she started Snr Sch ) bought her for Christmas pen, Ruler & note pads all with the name ELLIE written on them........she told her new friend that her name was Eloise and how would she had liked it if friends called her Ann, Anna, Hannie ( friends name is Hannah ) I was embaressed for her LOL!! They still are pals so i guess they have reached an understanding. Much happiness Debi ( Called Deborah Debbie Deb and Mum and really likes any gifts at Christmas even with the name dedrie written on them LOL)

does she get annoyed when someone puts a u in her name? Heloise and Abelard are buried in Piere Lashasse(spelling??) in Paris.

LOL Karen must be the name Eloise. My daughter is aged 12 , called Eloise and is exactly of the same nature LOL I once looked the meaning of the name up and got this: ELOISE   f Usage: English Pronounced: EL-o-eez From the Old French Héloïse, which is of unknown meaning. It is possibly related to Greek helios "sun". Saint Eloise was the wife of the French theologian Peter Abelard. She became a nun after her husband was castrated by her uncle. food for thought LMAO
