Hi Sandra, I grew up listening to my Dad playing and singing Mario Lanza songs. Of course as a teenager I thought nobody could beat David Cassidy etc. but as an adult now I can appreciate just what a great voice he had, and what a good looker he was too! My Dad loves to sing one called Cateri, which as you probably know is Italian. We were always sure he just made the words up as he went along but he always denied it. Until one night he was up singing in a club and a group in the corner were almost wetting themselves laughing. Not because he was rubbish, he's really quite good. Turned out they were Italians and never understood a word he was singing. That'll teach him!!! Christine |

Wow I didnt know that he died in 1959... that means my mum was only 10 when he died, yet she still loves him to bits! I think she used to listen to him in Musice at school or something! Shaz x |

My mother and older sister loved him so I had to love him as well! Seriously though, he had a wonderful voice and I can always tell when he's singing. His voice was so distintive. I always makes me shiver when I hear him sing. The sign of a great voice/singer! Viv |
