I suppose it could be a beige sheep lol !! Jim's right, this has nothing to do with ethnic minorities, or religious beliefs, but a group of people (jobs for the boys) who are feathering their own nests at our expense!! You can imagine them at meetings. They probably have their 'token' 'minority' members (patronising), and work out what, in their jobsworth type minds MAY be offensive, or go through complaints from 'disgusted from somewhere or other' who doesn't like this, that, or anything else in life!! It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. I think the people who make these decisions are racist and patronising, and should maybe get out more and get a life. maggie |

why do they have to rename roads and schools anyway? there is enough of them being built to name the new ones. as for the black sheep, what else could it be but a black sheep its a fact not a fantasy! are they going to suggest that they wipe the colours from the spectrum? as everybody knows religion is a topic few people agree on,everybody has a right to thier own beliefs, its when some people think that they know best and try to force others to understand that certain belief! thats my opinion anyway! |

At my work a lot of the senior managers in the US office are Jewish so we are not allowed to say Merry Christmas to each other, we have to say Hapy Holidays! The thing is I have had many friends of other religions over the years and they enjoy Christmas too....just the non religious aspect of it, eg time off work to spend with your family and having the get togethers, exchanging gifts etc. Thye have never been offended by being wished a Merry Christmas or receiving a card. |

I read in a newspaper that a school somewhere in the States banned Halloween (which happens to one of their biggest holidays) in case it offends witches. Now what is that all about. |

I generally agree with everything thats been said. I think it is worth pointing out, however, its not the minorities that do the complaining, but some strange sort of "liberal" type person. Quite often, the minority leaders say, themselves, that these ideas are stupid. |

Black is not an insult but a definition. I'm afraid that all this nonsense is nothing to do with the so called "Minorities" whether they be religious, racial, sexual or anything else. It is a load of bitterly repressed "Nannies" who are fighting to preserve their jobs as they are incapable of earning a living by doing a Proper Job. And please don't get me going about Social Services!!! Jim |

Doesn't "Baa Baa Pink Sheep" offend homosexuals, then? After all their money is known as "the pink pound". Absolutely ludicrous. I always thought the black sheep were the cutest in the field!! |

Whilst I agree with much of what has been said on this thread, I don't believe that we should be teaching ANY religion in STATE schools; passing on religious beliefes should be the role of the parents and the community. I'm not religious myself, and would like my son to make up his own mind about his beliefs when he's old enough, not have them forced upon him by myself or a school. That said, a church school is a church school, presumably the parents had a choice in sending their children there (my Gt niece is at a catholic school, her mothers choice). Regards Paul |

The school Lin refers to is a Church of England Primary School and has a CHRISTIAN ( not Muslim/Jewish / or Any other faith) ethos............so will they be changing this too? Does Christian values now offend the multi cultral society we have become? Oh boy Much happiness Debi |

It's bad enough when they rename pubs that have had their names for centuries (we had a Black Horse thats now The Proud Perch (stupid name)), but this is absolutely ridiculous. Pathetic. |
