I enjoyed it, but then I also enjoyed Jeremy Clarkson's too! They were both more about finding out about historical details rather than to find long lost relatives. I think it depends on what you want out of genealogy. Whether you want to find out about the life your ancestors led or whether you want to connect with distant relatives. I want to do both, but I can understand people who want one or the other. Still think Amanda Redman's was the best so far though! Sue

Sorry, I found this one the worst one so far - I actually fell asleep!! I enjoyed the others though, esp. Jeremy Clarksons one. I am looking forward to David Baddiel's one. C.

I found Ian's family journey an interesting one however from a research point of view it was not very informative. It gave us no direction at all . I'd imagine that a beginner in family history would be put off if they found they had an ancestor in the Boer war. I'd like to see more of how they found out about these rellies rather than just being told or having to press the red interactive button to learn more. Much happiness debi

Thought it was brilliant - admit to having a bit of a cry during it. Very emotional and very nice to see a bit of Scottish info - majority of my research is in Scottish records or further abroad than England. And very bizarre to see Ian Hislop in Ayr, very close to where I'm from. Well done! I've found all the programs so far interesting and moving in different ways - found Jeremy Clarkson hysterical when he was looking for his missing billions. K.

Shouldn't comment really as I am biased - I think Ian Hislop is lovely and he was so nice and pleasant to everyone he met. A real gentleman. Chrissie

Would,nt it be nice if we all had the Facilities provided by the programme makers to do our research, and all the perks that go with it. Hal.

Very good programme as usual. He seems such a nice guy as well. I did a bit sorry for him when he had his wife and kids with them and they all looked bored out of their skulls.

Oooh I know who he is now. I will watch it tonight.

I really enjoyed this programme. They have all been good in their own way. I suspect we all relate more to those which mirror our interests. It was good to see someone researching somewhere other than England. It is a shame that the BBC then direct you to a different channel. Not everyone can receive digital T.V. Rosemary(Essex)

Well, I have thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of every single one so far!! Perhaps I'm just more obsessed than you lot!! I loved the ex-temperance-church now a pub!! And so interesting to see the actual places in France and South Africa where his ancestors fought. Maz. XX

I thought it sounded like it was scripted by Hislop for him to present in his own way - Hislop by Hislop. He seemed just a bit - I don't know, unreal? Maybe it' me!

It brought a little tear to my eye when they showed the mass grave and I felt sorry for Ian not really knowing his grandparents. The person that irritates me is the chap who speaks at the end, if they just told you where they had found info and how the links are made then it would improve the programme no end. Sue
