Good morning, been up for about an hour now and apart from having a look on here have been having a good tidy up - the front room looked like we'd had a party last night.

Why is it on a school day, I have to prise my kids out of bed at 7am, like sardines out of a can, but Saturday and Sunday, my five year old gets up at 6;30am?? Elaine x

David I'm on the Isle of Portland, just off the Dorset Coastin Southern UK.It is very rugged and in the past was a major producer of oolitic limestone. It is full of worked out quarries which have been taken back by nature and are great nature reserves. I came here 23 years ago with HMP Service.I thought for about three years. As you can see we are still here.

Not quite so early on here as usual. Late night spent in A&E as elder daughter was in severe pain, -she's still there, probably appendix, so I didn't get to bed until after 1.30am. I've been up a while loading washing machine etc. I call the early morning 'my time' as I don't have to fight for computer seat then, while the younger members of the family aren't about.

Gwyneth,Sorry to hear about your daughter.Appendicitis is so painful.Hope she is OK soon.I too have spent a lot of time recently at AE and EMU Dorchester General as my90 yr old mUM HAS HAD MASSIVE INTERNAL BLEEDING FOR THREE DAYS. I have gathered my family and we awaited the worst. She has been given a blood transfusion and the internal bleeding and vomitting blood has now stopped and yesterday she was sitting up in bed, laughing with my sister and I asking for a gin infusion in her drip. Hugs Rose
