Did anybody go to church, synagogue or mosque this weekend? It is the time of year to remember those who died for us in the last wars, no matter what religion you had you were asked to fight for your country. Sylvia xxx |

Yes, Roxanne, sometimes these places seem to be a breeding place for trouble. I love visiting old churches though and wouldn't like to see them disappear. Sylvia xxx |

I usually go to church on a Saturday evening, as regularly as I can make it. I went yesterday for the remembrance service. |

Yes, I went to church today. Man's inhumanity to man is not the fault of religion, even though it may be blamed on religion sometimes. Joy |

Yes, I went to church today with my family. Surely if you attend a Church (or place of worship for any religion) it helps your walk with God to grow stronger. It helps to be with like-minded people! It's similar to being on this site I suppose, but much more important. Going to a good strong Church on a Sunday and meeting up during the week can help keep your faith strong on a day by day basis. Churches aren't just for looking around and being hatched, matched and despatched. They were built partly to enable believers to have a vibrant relationship with God. |

Glad to hear that you went to church today John. Do you always attend the same church? I now and again go to a Catholic church, and also one of my own religion. I have also been to a mosque. It's very interesting to follow the various services. Sylvia xxx |

Yes went to church today (I go every week) and we had our 2 mins silence to remember those who gave their lives so we could have freedom. Found it very moving. Joanne |

The best thing is to accept one another's religions. As I said, my husband is catholic, but I don't agree with everything in the catholic religion, so cannot become one myself. Sylvia xxx |

Sylvia Yes I went to Church yesterday as i do every Sunday. I also go on two or three weekdays too. The Church is a building where people can gather together as a community, a family of God. Where we can share with each other in good times and support one another in bad. The Bible tells us to love one another. I am sorry some on this thread have felt hurt or disappointed by their Church. |

Each to their own, but it times of life or death etc most pray to god. I nearly lost my boy and when he was in intensive care I got on my knees and prayed. It was a miracle he survived, OK thanks to medical staff, but did god help too? Jacquie |

Thanks Roxanne It's two years in two months since it happened and he's a happy healthy boy - 4 next month. He got menigiccocal septicaemia - nearly died twice - had to be on a respirator - in intensive care for 5 days, got pneumonia too - after that we were warned about all the things that might be wrong with him later on and he was totally normal afterwards. I thank God every day for my little Oliver. Jacquie |

Roxanne my mention of people being hurt by the Church was a general one - not aimed at anyone in particular. You seem to think I was talking to you - I was not. Anne |

I remember in the war praying that I be allowed to live to grow up and have children. I was, and I am still enjoying life. This is a time when the bombs were falling on us in London. |

I used to be a regular Church goer. Then I found that there was nothing new they could teach me and attendance became just a boring repetition of the lessons I had heard before. Now I say that I have done the Sunday School and learned how God expects me to live, so now I am out in the World living the Gospel. |

If you want a truelly amazing experience go and stand in the middle of a wood and in the peace and quiet talk to your God. I always pray each day that I cause no man hrm or discomfort and i ASK MY ANGEL TO WATCH OVER ME AND ALL MY LOVED ONES. I always have a quiet word with the angel before beginning a journey and I am certain from the number of close shaves I have encountered that I am protected. Gone All reflective Rose Do you remember Dave Allen's comment as he ended each show."Good night and may your God go with you" Lovely I thought |

Hi Sylvia, I don't go to church unless it's a wedding, christening or a funeral, but I did think a lot about those that died. Jack x |
